Enrich Yourself
September 10, 2008 7:20 pm Book ReviewsMy new son-in-law is in restaurant management and recently finished reading (yes–reading! We haven’t gotten him converted yet to listening) Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki. In the book, Kiyosaki shares secrets of what the rich teach their kids about money that the poor and middle class do not. He points out that “the main reason people struggle financially is because they have spent years in school but have learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money…but never learn to have money work for them”. Hmmmm. What do you think? For those of you who don’t enjoy reading or don’t have the time to read, we have Kiyosaki’s book on CD that you can rent or buy. You can come into the store or you can order it online and we’ll send it to you.
We also have a number of books on the subject of finances, by David Bach. Start Late, Finish Rich shares his no-fail plan for “achieving financial freedom at any age”. And Bach’s newest Go Green, Live Rich outlines 50 simple ways to make your life, your home, your shopping, and your finances greener– at the same time saving the planet and saving money.
Just this week we received the newest book by Ken Fisher titled The Only Three Questions That Count, Investing by Knowing What Others Don’t. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, but would love to hear from someone who did….Anyone out there who’s read or listened to it? Let me know. Would you recommend it for some good information? (And for those of us who haven’t read it, we’re dying to know: What are the only three questions that count??)
