Talking Book World

Traverse City Talking Book World opened its doors in January 2000 with an audiobook inventory of over 5,000 titles. Our books can be rented (very similar to movie rental programs) or they can be purchased. We offer books in CD, cassette and MP3-CD format.

Having been born and raised in Traverse City, we pride ourselves on getting to know many of our customers on a first name basis. We have a variety of Rental Programs available and many of our customers come into the store on a weekly basis. We have come to know many of our summer visitors who arrive each year to ‘stock up’ on books for their summer listening.

Each Fall we see the ‘snowbirds’ come in to rent an audiobook to listen on their way south for the winter months. (We offer a mail program so books can be rented to listen on the way to your destination, then mailed back to us)

The kind support and wonderful suggestions of our customers through the years have helped us understand your likes and dislikes of certain genre, authors and readers making it possible to keep our shelves stocked with titles that you want to listen to.
